Why am I charged a penalty from Indonesian customs related to the value of my goods?

Modified on Tue, 12 Dec, 2023 at 3:41 PM

Indonesia customs has recently intensified its scrutiny of declared values on shipments and has started imposing heavy penalties, with a maximum of 1000% (one thousand per cent), on inaccurately declared values.

Three common reasons shipments fail to pass inspection include Undervalue declaration; discrepancy in the declared description; and/or discrepancy in declared quantity.

We kindly request your cooperation in reviewing and double-checking the accuracy of all customs declarations related to your shipments to Indonesia to avoid unnecessary delays and penalties imposed by the customs authorities.
